AP Vacation/ IB Higher level Vacation


 Dear CollegeBoard,

    After a stressful hectic day in the office, typing on a computer and talking business jargon, you need to relax. Many wanted to have a worry free relaxation for less but are unprepared.  With tourists traps and the insane costs of almost everything, planning and budgeting is crucial.  It's hard to find an ideal vacation that won't break your wallet and not worry about credit card bills. It's imperative that high schools offer an AP or IB class on this, in order to prepare students for the challenges of balancing life in taking a break.  Below are some of the course material that will be included to help prospective students achieve that and enjoy vacation. 

Below are some important ideas taught in the class.

     A key concept to learn especially for air travel, is to always buy water and food at the airport.  A nine dollar bottle of water will keep you from dehydration more than a drinking fountain can (no, really they use the same municipal water source). Make sure to use the airport's currency exchange to get the most out of your money when going abroad. Don't forget to take as many pictures as possible, post them on your story.  It's important that everyone is reminded that you are on a vacation and they aren't!  



    Vacation Dynamics, the textbook for this class suggests that each person must carry an extra empty check-in luggage so you can stuff all the useless trinkets you thought would forever remind you of the great experience you had at this vacation. After a day of walking with sore feet and burning majority of your year's saving away, one must rest at their so-called five star hotel, where the pillows and blankets showed signs of the love life of the previous occupant.  So by taking this class, one would not end up paying so much for a place like this or if you do, how to resolve it and not allow it to ruin your fun time. It is essential to walk around the floor barefoot, because they really do take the time to clean the carpet.  When it's time to eat, you discover that they serve food that you would normally order for delivery, because you traveled 2000 miles just to taste a variation of pizza.  It's better to create your own itinerary than sign up for a package tour.





    I hope this proposal would be taken into consideration. Many people depend on vacations to keep their sanity, much like you depend on colleges requiring the SAT to make money.

How History and People are Remembered There are countless means that people can keep the memory of others alive.  It is usually through tangible ways like writing, photographs, songs, plaques, building and more. Key events in history are relived in many books, movies and memorials.  We don't really pay attention or concern on how people are remembered, even when we come across an article, see or hear about a notable person from the past.  In class, I realized that besides memorials,  there are numerous ways to remember what is significant. As the world changed and evolved, so has how we remember the past. With modern technology, artists, architects, and writers have developed more abstract and more open ended avenues in doing so through tv, movie, and social media.
