I said, I prefer the real Porsche

 What comes to mind when you think Porsche we think cars. Pretty good ones too, the Porsche 911 turbo s finished the quarter mile in 10.1 seconds which is an amazing feat. However, gamers, tank enthusiasts and historians know Porsche for different reasons. During the Second World War many German transportation companies converted and produced tanks ie. Maybach( Ultra luxury line of Mercedes) produced tank engines. Henschel used to produced trains, then produced tanks and aircraft. In the U.S Ford produced B-24 Liberators at the Willow Run Plant. Porsche produced the Tiger P and Panzerjäger Ferdinand (Elefant) tank destroyer.  Though they weren’t well known. Porsche’s machines have been immortalized by memes and games. German tanks were very fearsome, though ineffective in some areas and prone to a plethora of issues especially during the winter. A result of over engineering. Imagine being told your tanks were too good that they’re bad. The irony is uncanny. Germany was not the only country to convert businesses to help with the war effort, other countries did so as well, I mentioned earlier about Ford making bombers, it’s a cool story but it isn’t meme material. Why? Because Ford is Ford and isn’t as cool as Porsche and Germany as a whole is a meme of 150% discipline( Prussian military was known for their discipline and efficiency which is still carried on to this day which I explain some other time).

How History and People are Remembered There are countless means that people can keep the memory of others alive.  It is usually through tangible ways like writing, photographs, songs, plaques, building and more. Key events in history are relived in many books, movies and memorials.  We don't really pay attention or concern on how people are remembered, even when we come across an article, see or hear about a notable person from the past.  In class, I realized that besides memorials,  there are numerous ways to remember what is significant.
